Trinity Christian School - Programs: Pre-School

Objectives

The pre-school department aims to 1) initiate young children to a wider-social circle of peers and adults and to the larger physical environment; 2) provide the young children with an atmosphere that is conducive to preparing them to acquire learning skills when they are ready to do so.

In TCS Pre-School, the pupils are taught to:

Love God and obey Him
Be responsible and self-reliant
Think of others
Show courtesy
Achieve their best academically
Relate with others in a healthy and productive way
Master muscular control and coordination
Take care of themselves and develop proper health habits
Appreciate the arts and express themselves creatively

Admission and Registration

Registration for a new school year is on first-come-first-served basis. Continuing pupils may register starting February 1 to assure a place. The reservation fee is credited against tuition fee later. Pupils must enrol during the scheduled enrolment period, otherwise, the school reserves the right not to accept the pupil if the class is already filled. Parents shall personally fill up the Registration Form of their children in the pre-school.

Admission Requirements

Age requirements:

Pre-Nursery: 2 years and 3 mos. to 3 years

Nursery: 3 years and 3 mos. to 4 years

Kinder 1: 4 years and 3 mos. to 5 years

Kinder 2: 5 years and 3 mos. to 6 years

Pre-school certificate, if a transferee
Applicants to take and successfully pass the admission test
Photocopy of SECPA birth certificate/ACR if alien
Report card if a transferee from another school
Parents to apply for permit if watcher-in-school is needed. This is subject to school regulations.

Special Cases

If an underage child is to be enrolled in a higher level than the regular class for his/her age, the parents are to sign an agreement with the school in addition to the child passing the admission test.
The school reserves the right to advise that a child be placed in a lower-level if the child is not ready to face the demands of the level to which his age belongs.
The school may require that a child attend summer enrichment/catching up classes (for Chinese or English) before the opening of the school year if the school believes that the child will have difficulty in coping with the academic demands of the level the child intends to enrol in.
