SCHOOL MATTERS

Students are encouraged to go home right away after school if they do not have school activities. Kindly arrange with your child as to what time they are to be fetched or to go home. Class dismissal time are as follows:

Preschool - based on schedule
Grades 1-2 - 4:20PM
Grades 3-6 - 4:40 PM
High School - 5:00 PM
Students are expected to go home within an hour after dismissal. Except for athletes under training, all students are to leave for home by 5:30 PM

Office telephone numbers are 434-1109 and 434-3925. Other phone lines of the school are used for internet connections or for public use and will not be answered by any school staff.
Office phones may not be used by unauthorized persons. Also the office will entertain only emergency calls for students

Students are requested not to bring/wear any jewelries to school (necklaces, bracelets, rings, etc). Watches are allowed. Students are also not allowed to bring expensive gadgets and electronic devices. This is to encourage simplicity, minimize losses and thefts, and prevent competition and comparison of possessions.

Concerning typhoons:
Signal no. 1 No class in the preschool level
Signal no. 2 No class in the preschool,
Elementary and HS levels
There is no need for announcement from the by school if the storm signal is announced by the PAGASA. The PAGASA normally makes these announcements over broadcast media 11PM and 5AM.
Incase the storm signal is announced while classes are going on, the school will continue to hold classes as long as the students are still in school. (It is safer to keep them in school than to dismiss them). However , parents may fetch their children anytime after the storm signal is announced.
In case there is no storm signal, the school will continue to hold classes no matter how strong the rain seem to be.
Parents have the ultimate responsibility for determining whether their children should go to school, even if no order for the suspension of classes has been issued, if they feel that traveling to or from school will place their children at risk.
Concerning dengue prevention
For several years now, the school maintenance staff has adopted the "search and destroy" system of dengue prevention with the help of City Health Office. Although the school has done some fogging in the past, the DOH actually discourages this for several reasons:
a. Fogging kills only the mature mosquitoes and not the larvae. Larvae that turn mosquitoes later develop a resistance to pest control chemicals later and become dangerous.
b. Fogging can kill mature mosquitoes but can also drive them away, only to come back later.
c. Fogging increases the incidence of dengue in surrounding areas when mosquitoes "migrate".
d. DOH encourages fogging only in areas with high incidence of dengue cases (may be more than 50 cases in a localized area)
Please be assured that the school is doing its best to make to campus safe, although sometimes the work of the maintenance staff may not be visible.
Do encourage your children to develop the habit of washing their hands since the school personnel have been spraying anti mosquito powder all across the campus.
Some reminders or school policies:
Parents, yayas and others who bring lunch to school for the students may stay inside the classroom only up to 12:30 and in school only until 1PM. Only watchers-in-school with proper ID may stay in the watchers area only.
Gate Pass and Watcher's ID must be pinned on before the "wearer" may enter the campus.
Only vehicles with the new TCS Car Pass (for school year 2010-2011) may enter the school gate during the inclement weather. Please buy your car pass from the cashier if you don't have one yet.
Early in the morning (before 8:10 AM), vehicles may not be parked near the entrance gate as this causes traffic congestion for other vehicles making U-turn.
For parents who have been observing the school policies since the start of the classes, we truly appreciate the examples you are setting. For others who are not aware of these policies, kindly advice your child and other people involved.
The school communicates with the parents through Info Bulletin, Teachers Note to Parents, Letters to Parents, Report Cards, etc. From time to time, teachers also send home notebooks for parents to sign. Kindly send back the reply slips of these communications so we will know these
have reached you.
Non-return of the reply slips will be reflected in the H&B grade of the student.
