TJ Tan wins International Math Tilt
"Survival of the fittest..." the competition was more like this with two hundred fifty-eight (258) math wizards coming from different countries around the globe. All of them came in their full battle gear ready to conquer the gold and the rest of the awards.
TCS' very own math wizard, Timothy James Tan of the 3rd year brought home a bronze medal in the recently concluded 8th China Southeast Math Olympiad held in Beilun High School in Zheijiang, China last July 25-30, 2011.
This competition was surely one of the most difficult feats that an MTG kid can encounter. That's why Tim was among the nine (9) member-Philippine Team that represented the Philippines in the said contest.
Tim, as fondly called by classmates and friends, has been going places, representing the Philippines in various prestigious international mathematics competitions. He is a member of the Mathematics Trainers Guild (MTG) - a national mathematics organization committed to develop and promote excellence in Mathematics Education in the Philippines.
