Trinitarian Writers Shine in Journalism Contests
It was a taxing Saturday for Trinitarian student writers as they competed wtih other students writers during the Division Schools Press Conference held last September 18 to 19, 2010 at the Rizal Elementary School.
Hundreds of student journalists coming from both private and public elementary and secondary schools competed against each other to occupy the top slots in the various contest areas.
Trinitarians who won in the said contest were the following:
Katrina Trish Isiderio 1st Place, Editorial Cartooning, Filipino Secondary
Renzee Moe Lao 2nd Place, Editiorial Cartooning, English Secondary
Thea Tabuga 7th Place, Feature Writing English, Secondary
Love Lyn Inventor 8th Place, Photojournalsm, English, Secondary
Antonette Somcio 8th Place, Feature Writing, English, Elementary
Adrian Janssen Huelar 10th Place, Copyreading and Headlining, Secondary
These student writers, together with the other winners from other schools will be joining the Regional Schools Press Conference to be held in Iloilo sometime this December.
Meanwhile, other student writers also bagged awards during the PIA Journalism Seminar held at Sugarland Hotel last August. Participated by campus journalists both from public and private secondary schools in the city, the aim of the seminar was to equip them with basic skills and knowledge on journalistic writing in its broader as well as specific aspects: news, feature and others.
