Treasuring Jesus Together
The first worship service for the school year will be on June 30, 2017, 8:30AM at the USST Hall.
The theme for this school year is "Treasuring Jesus Together" with the text coming from 2 Corinthians 5:14-15: For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.
Another text is found in Galatians 6:14: But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
The beginning of each school year offers us the opportunity to gather to seek God's blessing and leading. It challenges us to review our personal growth and to set some new goals. A new school year gives us the chance to look at the person we already are and by God's grace, to see who we can become.
Therefore we ask the help of the Almighty as we begin this new school year to allow us to experience His presence in the many blessings He places before us. For Him to open our eyes to the new challenges and exciting opportunities that this new school year brings; to open up our hearts and minds to new friends and new teachers.
Let us ask Him to give us a generous spirit to be enthusiastic with our studies and courage to accept new opportunities.
May we grow as a community that is dependent on the daily bread of Your provision. As You have been, and remain, compassionate and generous with us, so we choose to be compassionate and generous with others. Let us be a community who treasure You that people will be drawn to You and make You their treasure, too.
