Trinitarians Win in International Math Tourney
Trinitarians reap awards in two separate international math contests.
Mark Gomez, a grade 3 student won a gold medal for the individual event and received a championship trophy after topping the group challenge in the same event.
Chloe Bernadette Limson, a consistent grade 6 honor student received a bronze medal in the individual event.
Jan Michael Ortaliz, grade 7 received a merit award.
They were part of the Philippine delegation to the International Mathematics Wizards Challenge held in Bangkok, Thailand last July 20-24, 2016.
The group of 350 Filipino students brought home 34 gold, 74 silver and 132 bronze medals, finishing in second place behind China.
They also won 87 merit awards.
Other participating countries and territories include Thailand, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Macau and Vietnam.
Meanwhile Adrian Louise Baron, also a consistent grade 8 honor student won a bronze medal in the 12th International Mathematics Contest held in Singapore from July 29 to August 1, 2016.
He was part of the Philippine delegation which won 26 gold, 50 silver, and 132 bronze medals to edge out contestants from 12 other countries and territories.
Aside from the Philippines other contestants came from China, Singapore, Vietnam, Taiwan, South Korea, Iran, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, India, Laos, and Hong Kong.
