New School Year Opens
School year 2015-2016 officially opened last June 4, 2015. It was a very exciting and memorable day for teachers, parents and especially for all students.
Familiar scenes like that of a preschool kid tugging at the hem of her mother's dress, afraid of letting go, small children carrying bigger bags and hugs and handshakes exchanged after months of not seeing each other warmed the hearts of those who were watching.
As the days pass by, familiar routine start to embrace the days of the students. It's high time to sleep early so as to wake up early for school. It's also time to start burning midnight candles to study and do homework activities.
Parents and teachers meetings for all levels were conducted and the first Worship Service of the school was held last June 11, 2015 at the USST Hall. The theme for this school year is "Built on Christ to Build the Community".
There is an overwhelming need to build our foundation with Christ, just like that of a wise man who builds his house on the rock. When the rain came down, the streams rose and the winds blew and beat against the house, yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. (Matthew 7:24-27).
This is one very busy school year for everyone. It will be full of challenges which at times could break us. But if we have our faith anchored in Christ, we will not easily fall because our strength comes from Him and we can fully rest in His presence.
