School Holds Track and Field Day

As early as 6:30 AM, private vehicles started arriving at the Panaad Park and Stadium for the yearly Track and Field Day last July 18, 2014. After the rainy days, finally the sun was up in the horizon (though many commented it was too hot that morning). The crowd included the students in their class colors, the parents (some took a day off from their regular work), the yayas and of course the lolos and lolas who wanted to witness the activity.
Tthe event took off with the singing of the Pambansang Awit, followed by the Oath of Sportsmanship led by Susmita Angelique Ramos, this year's Palarong Pambansa winner in Badminton. Other palarong pambansa winners spearheaded the passing of the ceremonial torch.
Students from all levels took turns running short distances to long distances stint. Parents were there to witness the events, most were cheering at the sidelines, others were capturing the precious moments on pictures and videos while others were just contented in clapping their hands.
The sports activities resumed after the lunch break. It was just perfect as the weather started to cool down and the remaining players took their position in the field. Some students played seriously while others were simply enjoying it.
At the end of the day, there were winners and there were losers. But it's not so much about winning and losing, but the day was much more into celebrating camaraderie and friendship; staying active through sports activities and more about fun and loving life.
