Ostin John Ong, 3rd from left together with the rest of the RP Team
In the recently concluded International Regions Math League (IRML) held last May 29-30, 2009 at the University of Nevada, Texas, the RP team composed of MTG kids coming from selected schools all over the country placed 3rd in the team competition with Trinity’s very own Ostin John Ong as one of the members.
ARML or IRML is a mathematics contest designed for Senior high school students and specifically in USA and other countries represented by either in Grades 11 or 12. The Philippine team went through rigorous training over the summer in preparation for the various international contests and indeed their efforts paid off as they garnered this prestigious award.
On the other hand, Ostin is once again slated to join the forthcoming 10th Invitational World Youth Mathematics Intercity Competition (IWYMIC) in Durban, South Africa on July 5-10 2009.
After his recent victory in the 3rd BRAND’S SUDOKU Thailand International Open Competition, Timothy James Tan is once again qualified to join another international math competition slated sometime this year.
Originally, he is supposed to be one of the 16 participants to join the prestigious 13th Po Leung Kuk Primary Math Contest to be held in Hong Kong on July 11-15, 2009. However, the continuous increase in the number of contaminated cases of human swine influenza A1/H1NI worldwide prompted the World Health Organization to raise the influenza pandemic alert from phase 4 to phase 5 thus, the cancellation of the said event.
Instead, Timothy will be reassigned to join the Hua Bei Sai Math Competition in China on July 14-18, 2009.
Dear Students, Parents and Teachers,
Good day!
The Bacolod Trinity Christian School Alumni Association would like to update you with regards to our Covered Court Project.
Our fundraising raffle last year was able to net us the amount of P600, 000 pesos. Together with the P1 million pesos donation of an alumnus, our budget for the covered court stands today at P1.6 million pesos. For this we give thanks to God and to you for your effort and generosity.
Our goal is to finish the task we have started within this year. Due to the steep drop in pieces of steel, the total project cost for the basic structure went down from 4.5 million at last year’s price to just P3 million pesos at current price.
Now is a good time to build.

Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself;
it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
John 15:4
Welcome to school year 2009-2010!
Walking down memory lane, last school year’s theme was Deeply Rooted in Christ with the text found in Colossians 2:6-7. It explains how we, as children of God should continue to live in Him, rooted and built up in Him and strengthened in the faith and overflowing with thankfulness.
Fruit bearing and deepening roots cannot be separated nor can be overemphasized from the other. That’s why this school year’s theme is focused on the book of John 15 “Jesus as the True Vine”.
For us to stay rooted in Christ we must remain in the vine. The vine here is Christ. And with Him as the gardener, He cares for us to make us fruitful.
For us to become fruitful then, we must remain in the vine. And this would mean that at times we have to be pruned. In other words, God must sometimes discipline us to strengthen our character and faith.
Pruning can be an arduous process. But it has a very useful purpose. For a growing plant, pruning influences the direction in which a plant grows. Each time a cut is made a growth is stopped in one direction and encourages it in another. This principle is important to keep in mind when one trains young trees to develop a strong branching structure.
